Description

Registration is now open for the Alternative Gallery's Spring Children's Art Program! Join us Saturday afternoons for instruction by the artists of the Alternative Gallery. 

Classes are $7 each or sign up for the entire 8 week program for just $50. All materials are provided.

Saturday 12:00-1:30 4th-6th Grade (Intermediate)
Saturday 2:00-3:30 Kindergarten-3rd Grade (Beginner)


Pre-registration is required. 

Class size is limited to 30 students. 
Accommodations can be made for siblings that fall into both age groups.

Class Schedule:

• 4/4/15 - Cut Out Collage
Use magazine cut outs, and other re-used paper products to create your own fantasy world, or abstract mixed media masterpiece.

• 4/11/15 - 3D Stick Sculpting
Create 3D geometric sculptures that can stand on their own using popsicle sticks. 

• 4/18/15 - Rice & Beans Mandala 
Combine a variety of dried beans, and rice to create a textured mosaic "Mandala" style work of art. 

• 4/25/15 - Salty Starburst Abstracts
A mash up of Art and Science, this project uses watercolor paint, and salt to create amazingly vivid abstract designs, and patterns.

• 5/2/15 - Black and White Tile Drawing
Create a mosaic style piece where a single image emerges from the segments. 

• 5/9/15 - Collaborate and Create 1
Team up with your classmates in this 2 part project. The class will work together to create 1 large scale piece of art. Final pieces will be on display at Mayfair 2015!

• 5/16/15 - Collaborate and Create 2
Team up with your classmates in this 2 part project. The class will work together to create 1 large scale piece of art. Final pieces will be on display at Mayfair 2015!

• 5/30/15 - Creative Color Wheels
Learn about Primary, secondary, and Tertiary colors while creating a hangable piece of art that catches the sun, and reflects rainbows!
