The Alternative Gallery is launching its premier animation festival March 25-27, 2016. Open World Animation Festival brings together a wide mix of animation styles, voices, mediums & artists from around the world.Animation styles include; stop motion, 3D, digital & computer animation, film cel, claymation, experimental, glitch, rotoscoping, GIF, mixed live action/animation, music videos, video game cutscenes & more.
Over 100 animators and hundreds of films from around the world will be involved!
Films will compete for awards & prizes, including the Audience Award, where YOU pick who wins!
There will also be an art exhibit along with the screenings, exhibiting the pieces that go into creating animated films: background art, film cels, character model sheets, sketches and more. See how much work goes into creating an animation!
SCHEDULE
Final film schedule will be announced in Mid-March.
TICKETS & PASSES
All screenings will take place in the main gallery at the Cigar Factory. The festival will be broken down into several blocks, highlighting different themes, mediums & styles.
Each day will contain 2 or more blocks of film programming.
Each film block is $5 admission and range 2-4 hours each.
Day Passes & All Access Passes are also available.
Day Passes are $10 per day
All Access Passes are $25 each and limited to 25 passes total. These get you into every screening throughout the festival.
Only Day Passes & All Access Passes can be bought in advance.
