The Susan Berko-Conde Gallery/E. M. Berko Archive is pleased to present
The Incredible Lightness of Being with works by Edward Berko, Carlos Ginzburg, Felicity Hogan, Michelle Jaffé and Nat Mayer Shapiro.

The Winter Solstice is upon us, a time of a myriad of celebrations. Whether from the perspective of the Judeo-Christian tradition or other spiritual practices, the metaphor of Light is present. Within the works of the artists in this exhibition is the sense that Light can carry us through challenge and change. The paintings, sculptures and mixed media pieces bring to mind the way in which Light can transform a sense of Being in the world.

The opening reception is Friday, December 4, 2009 from 6 - 8 pm and the exhibition will be on view until January 24, 2010.

The Susan Berko-Conde Gallery/E.M. Berko Archive is located at 521 West 23rd Street, 2nd fl, between 10th & 11th Avenues and is open Wednesday through Saturday, 12 - 6 pm.
