After recieving her BA in Studio Art from Macalester College in 1982, Catherine Latson began a 20 year career as a professional scenic artist, painting sets and special effects for film, television , painting sets and special effects for film, television, and major metropolitan opera, ballet and theatre companies across the US, from New York to Honolulu. After moving from Hawaii to New York, Catherine stepped out of the commercial world and let her own work unfold. Painting gave way to sculpting and her exploration of this three-dimensional world ensued.
