Join us for the inaugural Yonkers Arts Weekend, a series of art events kicking off the first weekend in May (Friday, May 2nd- Sunday, May4th). Free shuttles will take you to 4 dynamic locations in the City of Yonkers, YoHo Open Studio at the Alexander Smith Carpet Mills Building, Untermyer Park, and the Hudson River Museum.
Spanning 2 floors and over 10,000 sq ft. Urban Studio from the Fine Arts Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology in collaboration with Torche' Galerie will present an exhibition of painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, installation and performance at iPark. The venue will be open to visitors both Sat. May 3rd and Sun. May 4th. There will be an opening reception for this event onsite, Saturday evening. Also on both days, YOHO Artists will be hosting an Open Studios. Buses will run every 30 minutes to transport visitors between venues.
Sunday's programming includes an afternoon in the Garden at breathtaking Untermyer Conservancy. Dawn of NY will present "Fashion As Art: A Runway Exhibit," paying homage to the 20's & 30's with live music and performance.
