Ruth Gilbert was born in Hartford, Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the Rhode Island School of Art and Design and a Master of Arts from the City College of New York. She has held various group and solo shows, and her work has been shown at: The Maitland Art Center, FL, The Boulder Art Center, CO, and the Bronx Museum for the Arts, NY. Since 2005 she has been a member of Soho20 Gallery, an all women artist run gallery in NY. She currently lives and works in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.
