Sarah Coble is a sculptor who studied art history at Vassar College and received her M.F.A. at Columbia University. She studied ceramics at Kansas City Art Institute and at Alfred University
Coble currently teaches sculpture and ceramics at the Hackley School and at the Clay Art Center in Westchester County New York. She has taught figure modeling and anatomy at the Fashion Institute of Technology and has conducted workshops and art residencies in the tri-state area. Thissummer Coble traveled with a group of students to Malawi Africa where she led the villagers and students in a community mural project. Coble is a member of the Clay Art Center , the MamaroneckArtist's Guild, and is a roster artist for the Westchester Arts Council. She collaborated with Susan Tunick to create a series of narrative tiles for the Hackley School inTarrytown. Their work on this project was sited in Print Magazine, Aug. 2008. Last summer Coble created a series of high
relief sculptures based on local history for the Metro North Train Station in Yonkers N.Yas well as a large ceramic mural for the RyeTown Park.
Coble is one of six artists interviewed in the documentary series. “Sound Shore Artumentary” LMC TV, 2009. She exhibited her work in the group show "SIxBYSixBySix"
at Marymount Manhattan 2009. Her 8'x11' ceramic mural "Kai and the Dragon", commissioned by the Clay Art Center and the Rye Town Park was completed in Rye Town Park 2010. Coble has been invited to exhibit in the exhibition "Beyond Rodin" at the Rye Art Center 2012. She completed two sculptural mosaic benches for the Ward Acres Park in New Rochelle commissioned by the New Rochelle Arts Council and the City of New Rochelle. Coble is currently exhibiting sculptures in the Small Works Show, Garrison Arts Centerand prints at the Mehu Gallery, NYC
